About the Conference

MahaMicroCon–2027 is the flagship State Conference of the Indian Association of Medical Microbiologists (IAMM) Maharashtra Chapter. This academic congregation brings together medical microbiologists, clinicians, laboratory professionals, researchers, postgraduate and undergraduate students from across Maharashtra and neighbouring states.

Hosted by the Department of Microbiology, Krishna Institute of Medical Sciences (KIMS) under Krishna Vishwa Vidyapeeth (Deemed to be University), Karad, the conference provides a vibrant platform for scientific exchange, capacity building, and networking in the field of clinical and diagnostic microbiology.

Conference Theme

The theme underscores the need for integrating traditional and molecular diagnostics, embracing technological innovations including artificial intelligence, and adopting a One Health approach to tackle emerging and re-emerging infectious diseases and antimicrobial resistance.

Background & Significance

Medical microbiology continues to evolve rapidly with advances in molecular diagnostics, genomics, metagenomics, and digital health tools. Concurrently, the threat of antimicrobial resistance, healthcare-associated infections, and zoonotic diseases demands a collaborative, multi-disciplinary response.

MahaMicroCon–2027 aims to bridge the gap between laboratory science and clinical practice, foster dialogue among stakeholders, and promote evidence-based approaches to infection diagnosis, prevention, and control.
