The Department of Microbiology at Krishna Institute of Medical Sciences is a dynamic academic and diagnostic unit committed to excellence in teaching, diagnostic services, research, and infection control. The department supports undergraduate (MBBS), postgraduate (MD Microbiology), and allied health science programmes.

With well-equipped laboratories for bacteriology, mycology, parasitology, virology, immunology, and molecular diagnostics, the department provides comprehensive microbiological services to Krishna Hospital and contributes actively to antimicrobial stewardship and hospital infection prevention programmes.

The department is equipped with modern instrumentation for conventional and automated culture systems, antimicrobial susceptibility testing, serological assays, and molecular platforms (PCR and related technologies).
